Road crashes can result in serious injuries and disabilities (or death), as well as extensive property damage, and often impact the lives of those involved in unforeseen ways. If you are involved in a crash as a driver, passenger, cyclist or pedestrian,  you may need hospital care, rehabilitation, sick leave or even medical boarding. You may need to deal with insurance claims, medical aid claims, Road Accident Fund claims and personal injury lawyers. It can be an overwhelming experience, particularly if serious injuries limit your day-to-day activities. Our Project recognizes the ethical and human rights issues involved in road safety (or lack thereof), as well as the needless economic and social costs of crashes which could have been prevented. We focus especially on low- and middle-income countries which can ill afford the 5% plus of GDP wasted by crashes and their consequences.
